A recent study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association researched the relationship between avocado intake and long-term cardiovascular diseases. They found that high avocado intake is linked with a lower risk of cardiovascular diseases. Replacing fat and cholesterol-containing foods such as butter, cheese, and processed meats with avocado products is helpful to cardiovascular health. Another study from 2019, that was conducted by Penn State researchers, found that eating one avocado a day is linked with lower LDL cholesterol. LDL stands for low-density lipoprotein.
